catching up...

So last time i posted i mentioned 'The Ruby Room' and 'The Jump Back Brothers'...both were alot of fun. big thumbs up! Then my friend Boogie and I ended up at 'Margarita Rocks' which was not much different from the old 'Have A Nice Day Cafe'. The saving grace of the night was hitting one of our old watering holes. I love you 'Rula Bula'. Then Boogie began to almost get arrested, fight everyone, accuse a cabbie of being a terrorist and have his pants fall down in public on mill ave. Boogie was on fire that night, which brings me to the doggie poop sitaution. I finally got Boogie back to his apartment, at which point he begins to run and bump into me and run back down a little hill. over and over. His momentum finally got the best of him and rolls down the hill right into a big warm pile of dog shit. Guess who had to carry him and his poopy self up the stairs. This guy!

The next day, I told Boogie of his adventures. He had a good laugh after alot of vomiting of course. later. The weekend was slow which was a nice change since I had been putting my body thru a tremendous amount of torture. So when i feel fully recovered, what the best thing to do? Go out and hit the town. It was my cousin's wife birthday. Happy Birthday Joanie! the night started out at Cadillac Ranch, which was filled with TONS of hot women. Good place to lurk hot girls. They made a good drity martini which brought a big smile to my face. We headed out to mill ave per the birthday girl's request. Ra Sushi is a place which i have many many fond and blurry memories. The night we arrived, it was by far one of the worst experiences i have ever had. Bad Service all around. No hostess up front. We waited at least 20 min before we left...we never got menus, drinks, not even fucking water! I can't believe how bad that place has gotten. So we left and wound up at Margarita Rocks again! it was empty in the beginning but filled up soon very quickly. They had a $10 cover charge which can easily be avoided by running into the guy giving out the free passes, that guys rocks. Also the 'Beer Tub Girls' are hot and big Bud Lights for $4...not too shabby. The night ended nice with a Denny's double burger. yum! Thank You, Joanie and Aaron.

The job hunting situation is still gaining momentum. In other words, I haven't even begun. Soon enough though. I have been getting my portfolio together and working on getting my hands used to drawing again. There is a interesting website devoted to artist. Spraygraphic is very interesting and has the lown down on alot of good info on local artsy events in Phoenix. If you have never been to a First Friday, you have no idea of how much good art you are missing out on. Live Music, Art and some kick ass food! As I was walking around I heard some sounds that caught my ear. It is very rare you see DJ's use actual Vinyl Records, but KC & Moonstar do it to perfection. It is nice to see the real art of DJ'ing is not lost. Check them out and listen to some of their mixes...they truly kick ass.

Ever been to Char's? You must check it out. EXCELLENT music. If you love R&B, Funk, Jazz, Soul and Shaking your all to all of the above. Then this is a must for you. Good drink prices and excellent vibe. This is my new favorite spot!

Now i must try and find my portfolio so i can try to get myself to look for a job. I love being out of the military. it gives me a HUGE appreciation for everything i do.

P.S. - BIG Happy Birthday to Aubree and Cara! 2 very lovely ladies!
